Leaky Boundaries

Artist Statement

My ceramics begin as functional forms - a candle holder, a cup, a bowl - then leak into surreal landscapes. Hand-built in clay with glazes, each piece invites non-ceramic guests: dried plants, fur, glass, and miniature plastic figures. A tiny worker sleeps beside his computer under a pink candle. A pig balances on a flower-filled glass. A baby waits for toast in a wobbly nest-bowl. These are functional containers, but also of dream logic and absurdity, creating leaky boundaries between utility, sculpture, and story.
